"But I really get her going

When I whip out my big ten inch

Record of a band that plays the blues."

(Fred Weismantel - performed by Aerosmith)

Multi-instrumentalists Cameron Kimbrough and Damion Pearson (Yella P) are Memphissippi Sounds - laying down grooves steeped in Mississippi hill country blues accented by Memphis rock, soul and hip-hop. The duo performed on South Main in September during the grand opening of River Center Records to celebrate the return of vinyl to downtown Memphis.

If you still have one more Christmas gift to get the music lover(s) in your life - check out RCR. And if you are looking for something for me, the new release from Memphissippi Sounds, "Welcome to the Land," would be perfect.
